Due to the severity of the weather at Living Springs the year three / four trip is cancelled. Mufti is fine to wear today.
The children have also been learning about... 1. the life cycle of a plant. 2. the parts of a plant and what they need. 3. plants storing their own food by a process called photosynthesis.
Yum - delicious potatoes for summer. On Friday al the Year 3/4 children were given a bucket, a shovel of dirt and a potato. We buried the potato and are now going to water and wait for these to grow into a bucket of delicious potatoes (hopefully!) We are storing them in a safe place at school and have children watering them each day.
Today we added some colour to the school environment. All the Year 3/4 classes are working on painting the piece of art. Last week we showed creativity by designing the flower shapes.. These were transferred to the board for us to paint. We are displaying manaakitanga by working together, using our initiative whilst using the paints, striving for excellence by concentrating and painting carefully, respecting other people's design and colour choices, producing a colourful art project for the community to enjoy and most of all we are all having FUN! Come and have a look at our progress this week!
Wow - we have certainly been busy creating vibrant colourful Rio masks! Here is a taster of the work and effort the children have put in so far. The children still want to put the finishing jewels and sparkles on their masks this week. Room 20 and 21 were brightening up the playground on Friday afternoon! |
